Clean Technology Investors Shifting Focus to Drilling

I saw this article today from Huffington Post Green on Twitter. It is all about how the investors in clean, green technology are shifting their focus to drilling.

These investors used to completely support renewable energy like wind turbines and solar power. However, when these methods were producing less results than expected right away, they changed their focus to the drilling industry instead. They seem to figure that oil and gas from drilling isn't going to go away any time soon, so instead of focusing on renewable energy to replace the drilling, they should instead focus on making the drilling "less dirty" and more environmentally friendly than it is now.

The article also mentioned that environmentalists are worried that these investors might be losing their focus and giving in too easily to the drilling industry instead of fighting to help the planet by improving renewable resource technology.

This relates to our presentation in class on renewable resources as well as the negative environmental effects of drilling and what's going on today in the real world. Here's the full article!
