what is environmental assessment?

It is an interesting area of environment. It may interest you to get the meaning. Very broad also...environmental health impact assessment (EHIA), social impact assessment (SIA), strategic environmental assessment (SEA), environmental impact assessment (EIA), environmental audit, analytical strategic environmental assessment (ASEA).

  2. Professor Afullo,

Are there any branches within this research area that specifically focus on the impact of nonhuman animals upon the environment?

  3. environmental impact assessment largely focus on assessing the anthropogenic impacts, though there may be non-human impacts which arise indirestly but initially from human activities. Its human beings whpo propose projects...becuase this is what EIA does...focuses on projecrs. However, Strategic env assessment (SEA) focuses on policies, programs and plans. Even these, as you are aware, are made by man. So it would seem that its only man who works for greed, the other biotic factors (lifes and life forms) as well as abiotic factors only contribute to what nature meant them to do.

  4. This blog may be very helpful to my current MSc and BSc students in Maasai Mara university. They could actually join it, and post comments, and get a chance to share with their collecgues in NCC...some of whom are now alumni.
